Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser this week comes from:

The Back Door of Midnight by Elizabeth Chandler
Release Date: November 16, 2010
Publisher:  Simon Pulse

Small blurb from Goodreads.com: Anna knows her family is crazy. But when she goes to visit her aunt and uncle for the summer and learns that her uncle’s charred body has been found, her life reaches a new level of insanity. Her erratic aunt’s “psychic” abilities are exaggerated by her grief, and have become borderline violent. Alone in an unfamiliar town, she desperately wants to trust Zack, the cute boy next door, but even he might know more about the incident than he is letting on. But when Anna starts feeling an inexplicable pull to the site of her uncle’s murder, she begins to believe that her family’s supernatural gifts are real after all.

Teaser taken from page 15:  "As I walked, the stillness of the Sunday afternoon was eroded by the sound of insects swarming up from the tall grasses.  The moment I entered the trees, the air changed, its temperature dropping, its dampness coating my skin."

What are your teasers this week?

  1. I really love that teaser. I've seen this book around, but didn't much care for the cover, so I never looked into it (awful of me, I know). I'm intrigued now, though! Thanks for the teaser! :)
