Most high school sports teams have rivalries with other schools. At Hamilton High, it's a civil war: the football team versus the soccer team. And for her part, Lissa is sick of it. Her quarterback boyfriend, Randy, is always ditching her to go pick a fight with the soccer team or to prank their locker room. And on three separate occasions Randy's car has been egged while he and Lissa were inside, making out. She is done competing with a bunch of sweaty boys for her own boyfriend's attention.  Lissa decides to end the rivalry once and for all: she and the other players' girlfriends go on a hookup strike. The boys won't get any action from them until the football and soccer teams make peace. What they don't count on is a new sort of rivalry: an impossible girls-against-boys showdown that hinges on who will cave to their libidos first. And Lissa never sees her own sexual tension with the leader of the boys, Cash Sterling, coming. -

Woah, woah, woah!!  Hold the phone.  Yes, I'm on a contemporary kick lately, and I know not everyone's a fan, but I have to tell you that if you don't pick up this book, you'll regret it.  This has got to be one of the sexiest YA books I've ever read, and one of the most unique stories.  It's based on Aristophanes' play Lysistrata, an old Greek comedy, and Kody Keplinger did such a great job translating that to the 21st century.  And need I remind you that Kody Keplinger's first book The Duff (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) was written when she was only 17 years old.  Now about 19, she's written us another awesome book that is so authentic, real and honest.

When Lissa starts her little sex rebellion, all the other girls are with her, and she thinks this won't be so hard to get through... it's all to get her boyfriend to pay attention to her, and to get all the boys to stop this rivalry before someone gets seriously hurt.  Of course, she didn't factor into her plan the fact that she's got an insane attraction to Cash, who is NOT her boyfriend.

Without giving anything away, I'll just say that Lissa finds it very difficult to survive through her mind and keep herself under control.  This is one of those stories where you could have just cut the attraction in the air with a knife.  Sorry, but I'm girly, and I absolutely adore stories like that.  I am a sucker for a good romance, and boy this was it!

This was fun, honesty, a little gritty, and very sexy.  I find myself really looking forward to Kody Keplinger books to come out.  And yes, I'm eagerly anticipating her next one.  Awesome!!
