I don't read many angel stories, but when I do I always end up enjoying them.  Jennifer Murgia brings a unique new twist the concept of angels on earth, and I found myself very drawn in to this story and its characters.  Teagan's relationship with Garreth begins pretty quickly, and I really enjoyed the mysterious quality here and found him to be a great hero to this story.  Teagan's character, as well, was pretty well drawn, and I found myself really loving her strength and straightforward character.  Together, these two were awesome.  Garreth's motivations for protecting her were so, so, so sweet.  You just couldn't help but love this guy for all he's willing to do for her.

The book definitely had some moments that were slightly eerie... these being any scene in which the "bad guy" made an appearance of any sort.  Wow... great descriptions here, and awesome job making you really feel like you were there.  Hadrian, obviously, is the bad angel, and I thought it was unique to find out what his origins were.  At first, I just hated him... toward the end I had mixed feelings.

Let me just say that the last few chapters of this story blew me away and I was so shocked by what happens.  I'm also a bit shocked at where I think I see the sequel heading.  Although I am just guessing, and unfortunately, I can't share my guesses with you without giving everything away.

Suffice it to say, I really loved this book.  The sequel, Lemniscate, is already out.  I had seen that one first and bought it, but didn't want to start in the middle of a story, so I went back and bought Angel Star and read it first.  Good move.  You'll definitely want to read this one first.  Awesome writing by Jennifer Murgia.  A definite win.
