When you can see things others can't, where do you look for the truth?
This paranormal murder mystery will have teens reading on the edge of their seats.  Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It's a gift.  And a curse. When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case - but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother - who has supernatural gifts of his own - becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?  - Goodreads.com

I haven't read many books that include a character who can pick up images from touching an object.  Although I have in movies.  So many the multitude of movies I've seen with this premise might have desensitized me to really getting into this book 100%.  Although I did enjoy it, it never gave me a wow factor.

The characters, especially Clare, were interesting.  I liked her pairing with Gabriel, but there were many times throughout the story that I felt things were just too predictable.  There were obvious red herrings, I guessed who the murderer was pretty early on, and everyone kind of reacted exactly the way I expected them too.

This doesn't all mean that I didn't like it.  I've read lots of books that were greatly formulaic and I still liked them.  So yes, I did like the book, I just wasn't wowed by it in any way.  I know it will have a sequel, as this appears to be the first in a series, and I probably will pick up the second book.  The author's writing was fluid and easy to get into and the pacing was very good.  So there were definitely things to recommend it.
