A thrilling debut story of death, love, destiny and danger.  Lenzi hears voices and has visions - gravestones, floods, a boy with steel gray eyes. Her boyfriend, Zak, can't help, and everything keeps getting louder and more intense. Then Lenzi meets Alden, the boy from her dreams, who reveals that she's a reincarnated Speaker - someone who can talk to and help lost souls - and that he has been her Protector for centuries.  Now Lenzi must choose between her life with Zak and the life she is destined to lead with Alden. But time is running out: a malevolent spirit is out to destroy Lenzi, and he will kill her if she doesn't make a decision soon.  -

Great story!  This one had me from page one and didn't let go until the very end.  I also thought I had it all worked out from the beginning too.  This was going to be a love triangle and I was going to have a hard time figuring out which one to love.  Nope, I was wrong.  I love it when an author surprises you like that, and Mary Lindsey did.

The characters in this story were great... so vivid and interesting, especially Lenzi.  I could definitely feel for her at first when she's struggling to figure out what's going on with herself.  She thinks she knows, and then everything she thought she'd always known about her family and herself, is proven wrong and she finds out it was all for some big purpose.  It was sad at first, hearing her thoughts, knowing what she thinks of herself.

This was one of those stories that surprises you when find out it really isn't what you thought it was going to be.  There was an external conflict that you aren't expecting, and it was so interesting and intriguing.  I haven't read a story like this before.

Alden?  Yes, he was a great character and I loved him.  I'm not sure if this is going to be a series or not, but it was definitely an awesome story and Mary Lindsey had me from page one.  Great book!!
