Beth Revis has done it again!  After her extraordinary debut in Across the Universe, she has put out a sophomore book that is absolutely amazing!  Just like the first book, A Million Suns sucked me in completely from the very first page and kept me suspended and devouring pages until the very end.

I had never really read a sci-fi-ish type story before this series, and I actually always thought I hated that type of story.  So the fact that this series has turned out to be one of my favorites is pretty incredible, but there you go.  I count the days until Revis' books come out, and this one was no exception.

The characters were awesome....  Again, I just loved Amy.  She's no damsel in distress, but at the same time she's not super tough either.  She's a wonderful mixture of bravery, vulnerability and intelligence.  I love how she's the thinker in this story.  She's the one who pieces the clues together, follows the leads, figures things out.  And Elder...  I just love Elder.  You gotta love this guy.  He wants so much to be a good leader, and he actually already is and just doesn't realize it.  There were times in this book, though, that I just wanted to smack some people upside the head and yell, "leave Elder alone!"  But it was all good.  That's what makes good struggle in a book.

There were a couple of really excellent and very unexpected twists in this book that I never saw coming.  Great job, Beth Revis, keeping us all in suspense and holding us there until just the right moment.  Which hits upon another aspect of the book that I love... Beth Revis knows when and how to reveal details.  Nothing comes at the wrong time, or comes too fast or slow.  It's always just enough, just what the reader needs, and no more, and it's always at just the right moment.

This author is a vastly talented storyteller.  I absolutely fell in love with yet another of her books.  I can't wait until the third book comes out.  Awesome!!
