Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list complete answers. This week's Top Ten list is:

Top Ten Books That Were Totally Deceiving (those covers or titles that don't fit the books, a book that was totally different than its summary, or those books you thought were going to be fluff that turned out to be more serious etc etc.)
1. The Cupcake Queen by Heather Hepler.  All of her books have been that way for me.  The covers and summaries give you one impression and then the actual story is so much more.

2. The Sweetest Thing by Christina Mandelski.  I must have a thing for cake, cupcakes, etc....Same thing with this one.

3. Enclave by Ann Aguirre.  This one did prove to be a dystopian, of course, but the cover didn't really do it much justice.  What's inside the pages was fabulous.

4.  Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson.  It seems suspensful, but there was a LOT more going on than that, and one of the best romances for me.

5. Crave by Melissa Darnell.  Although the cover is beautiful, it didn't give me any idea what to expect and I was so pleasantly surprised.  This book was one of my favorites from 2011.  Awesome.

6.  Little Women & Me by Lauren Baratz-Logsted.  This one seemed like it was going to be a contemporary, but there was more to it than that.  It was mainly set in the past, but it was so, so good!

7.  Safe Landing by Tess Oliver.  This one seems like a simple beach teen book, but there was so much more.  It turned out to be a rather serious book with some great emotional punch to it.

8.  Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.  This is probably one of the best cases for why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.  This is a college-based story, a love story... and this cover doesn't tell you a thing about the book.  It was really great.

9.  But I Love Him by Amanda Grace.  Judging by the cover, I thought this book was going to be a cute romance.  I was way surprised, but not unpleasantly so.  This book was phenomenal!  Just, wow.

10. Dark Parties by Sara Grant.  I thought it would be suspenseful only.  Look out!

  1. Enclave was on my list too - it was totally gripping! I think I'm going to need to check out Hunting Lila, because I keep seeing good things about that one. And Little Women & Me has a fun-sounding premise :)

  2. Danya, Hunting Lila was really, really good!
