Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.And then he opened his mouth.Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks me.You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is. - Goodreads.com
Let me start out by saying I'm not a typical fan of this type of story. Aliens have never been my thing. I read it only because I have a reader-crush on Jennifer Armentrout, so I'm eager to get my hands on anything she's written. I did NOT expect to really love it the way I do. I gotta say here, Jennifer Armentrout is getting really hot right now, in my opinion. Literarily speaking. Everything I've picked up written by her has been so awesome and has sucked me in immedately and not let me go.
I love the characters in this story. The relationships between Alex, Daimon and his sister are so cute, funny, endearing, and so much more. Alex was such an interesting character for me. She's so self-composed and calm. I loved that about her. She takes everything so well, doesn't freak out and is really rather brave. I wasn't expecting that. Daimon was just hot!! And sexy. What chemistry there was between these two. Wow. The scenes between them were so awesome, I just kept turning the pages in a rush to see more.
The writing was fast, perfectly paced. The author has this awesome way of snaring you in and then keeping you there by the hair. This book hooked me right into the Lux series and now I'm dying for the next one to come out.
