Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Pure (Covenant #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: April 3, 2012
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press

There is need. And then there is Fate... Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.  When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.  When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone. -

Wow.  Just, wow.  I'm so in love with this series... and I thought I really, truly loved it until I read this second book, and now I'm even more sucked in.  This story has all the elements that I love: there's intrigue, suspense, danger, humor, romance and some really sizzly sexual tension to amp things up even more.  I love Alex! She's so cute and fiery.  She can't control her temper, but I just love that about her.  What you see is what you get, and she makes no effort to sugarcoat anything.  She's raw, impulsive, but at the same time smart and gutsy.  Now let's talk about the men in her life.

I'm so, so, so, so torn!!  I can't take this.  Yes, it's a love triangle.  Yes, they're so done.  But the bad ones are ones where you already know from page one which person the girl should be with, and that's who it always turns out to be.  A good love triangle, to me, is one where the reader just can't decide.  You love them both.  Well, this is where I'm sitting reading this series.  I thought I loved Aiden... he's smart, he's dedicated to Alex, he's sexy, good-looking and caring.  But then there's Seth.  He's super sexy, good-looking, irresistible, magical, arrogant, and fascinating, and apparently seems to really care about Alex.  In the first book, I was team Aiden.  I have become a love triangle ho, though, and in this second book, I've defected to Team Seth.  Yes, I have a Team Seth pic on my blog!

This series just got better in this second installment and now I am chomping at the bit and hopping up and down to get the next one!  The wait is going to be agony.  I can't wait!!

If you liked this book, you should check out the first in the series:
