Serial Hottie by Kelly Oram
Release Date: July 10, 2012
Publisher: Bluefields

Ellie’s sweet sixteen is a summer of firsts. First car. First kiss. First boyfriend. First serial-killing stalker?  Hockey-obsessed tomboy Eleanor Westley has never been the object of a guy’s affection before. So when the hottest boy she’s ever seen moves in across the street and starts treating her like she’s the center of his universe, naturally she’s going to be a little skeptical. But everything starts to make sense when girls who look just like Ellie start dying all around the city. Obviously the new guy is the killer, and of course he only likes her because he wants to slice her into tiny pieces. Right?  The more Ellie gets to know Seth the more she’s convinced he’s a psychopathic killer. The problem is he’s the sweetest psychopathic killer she’s ever met. Not to mention he’s brutally hot. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t help but fall for him. Will Ellie find true love, or will her summer of firsts turn out to be a summer of lasts?  -

Ellie was such a cute character.  From the very beginning, you have to love this girl. She's sweet, she's quirky, she's a cute little tomboy whose best friends are guys, who doesn't know how pretty and feminine she is.  So it might seem strange how this gorgeous, hot guy who just moved in from next door could possibly like her.  But it's because of these things, because she's open, exciting and a free spirit.

I loved being in this girl's head because she's just so darn cute and unique.  And you just had to like Seth too.  You can tell immediately, of course, how much he likes her because he pretty much chases her non-stop through the entire book.  At times, I got so frustrated with how Ellie pushed him away, but at the same time, I could understand it too.

I have to admit that when the big revelation came, I was shocked out of my shoes.  I so didn't anticipate that.  So the author did a really good job planting clues but not giving it away either.

The writing was so fun.  I read the entire book in no time at all.  I looked down and it was over.  I enjoyed it enough to go hunting for more Kelly Oram books.  This was a perfect summer read.  Loved it.
