Four girls. One magical, and possibly dangerous Italian summer. Family mysteries, ancient castles, long hot nights of dancing under the stars . . . and, of course, plenty of gorgeous Italian boys! - Goodreads.com
As far as contemporaries go, this was a really good and fun summer read. The girls are attending a special finishing school in Italy, which is cool enough, but then you add in some guys for them to hang with and things begin to get interesting.
One of the things I loved the most about this book was the dynamic between the girls. They are each different, having their own personalities and quirks, and I love how this unlikely group of girls become friends and band together. The guys were a cute addition, especially the main one.
Before going any further I have to say I was completely unaware that this book was going to be the first of a series...so, my next statement probably isn't necessary. But... my only issue with the book was how slowly the romance developed between the two lead characters. I would have liked to have seen more, but since this ends with a cliffhanger and there's going to be another book, the slower relationship building makes a lot more sense. And I think the wait will be worth it. These two together were very hot!
This was a perfect summer read that helped me escape and just have some fun. I am looking forward to book two. This looks like the start of a good series.
If you liked this book, be watching for the sequel, Kissing In Italian!
