My Heart For Yours by Jolene Perry & Stephanie Campbell

My Heart For Yours by Jolene Perry & Stephanie Campbell
Release Date:  May 4, 2012

For Tobin and Delia, everything was always equal. A bargain, a trade, a deal to be struck.  A kiss for a kiss.  Your shirt for mine.  Break my heart, I’ll break yours.  Their disastrous split was no different. Tobin’s spent the last year pretending Delia never existed, and Delia’s been in D.C., pretending to be anything but the country girl that she is.  When tragedy brings her back to town, Tobin and Delia realize that time apart hasn't healed either one of them. But staying away from each other is harder than they imagined, especially in small town Louisiana, and old feelings are quickly brought back to the surface.  In the mess they’ve created, is there anything to be salvaged of a love that they both thought would be forever?  - Goodreads.com

I was so in the mood for a New Adult story when I picked this up.  I found a great blog that features New Adult titles (a la Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Maguire) and I found some really amazing books in the list.  This was one of them and I am so glad that I read it.

The characters are in that unique position between high school and college.  Delia has an overbearing senator father who never approved of Tobin.  This was a major contributing factor for their initial breakup, among other things that I won't get into.  It isn't until they both must attend a funeral that they're thrown back into each other's company.

I loved both of these characters.  From the very beginning, you could feel how much each had hurt the other, and how strong they were both trying to be.  I love to read a story like this where previously hurt characters are able to come together.  And their interactions were amazing.  Don't think this is just another cutesy romance.  This story had some depth, some great lessons in it, and some amazing sexual tension.

I would definitely recommend the story.  The writing was really heart-wrenching at times, and I am a new fan of these authors.
