This was totally not what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised.  Again, I'm not much of a fan of the stories told in verse, as I've said before.  I've found maybe three or four that I like, and this one has to be another exception.

I was a little surprised when I discovered what was really going on in this story.  It took me a few chapters before I caught on, but once I did, I thought the idea was intriguing and different and I liked it.  I liked Ally as a character, but I especially liked Elijah.  He was really the brightest spot in the story.  I loved how patient he was, how steadfast he was in trying to help Ally.

Ally was sad and broken, but I also enjoyed watching her come out of that, grow some guts and start to live again.

This was definitely one of those stories about finding inner strength and battling your demons.  It's a very fast read, and the pacing was great.  The language was at times very beautiful.  All in all, I'd say this one was very very good.
