Here we go again … Just when it seems life at Mythos Academy can’t get any more dangerous, the Reapers of Chaos manage to prove me wrong. It was just a typical night at the Library of Antiquities — until a Reaper tried to poison me. The good news is I’m still alive and kicking. The bad news is the Reaper poisoned someone else instead.  As Nike’s Champion, everyone expects me to lead the charge against the Reapers, even though I’m still hurting over what happened with Spartan warrior Logan Quinn. I’ve got to get my hands on the antidote fast — otherwise, an innocent person will die. But the only known cure is hidden in some creepy ruins — and the Reapers are sure to be waiting for me there … - Goodreads.com

Another amazing installment to the Mythos Academy series.  These books just keep getting better and better!  The mystery, the action, the romance... everything blends together perfectly to create a wonderfully entertaining tale that has always kept me on the edge of my seat.

The characters are one of my favorite elements of the story.  They are an amazing cast, work so well together, and play off each other perfectly to the point where I can literally imagine myself standing around and talking with these people.  I love how close all the friends are, and how well they work together for the common good.  Naturally, Gwen is still my favorite character, and probably one of my favorite characters of any series I've read in a long time.  She is an exceptional mixture of vulnerability, bravery, courage, and cunning.  Some of my favorite aspects of each of these books in this series are those where Gwen is working through a mystery, searching for clues and figuring out what's going on.  She's so smart and intuitive, it's like reading Nancy Drew meets mythology.

A great complement to her, of course, is Logan.  I loved this guy from the very beginning, and I love the journey that he's been on that has shaped him.  He's grown, changed, and developed into an honorable, vulnerable, but kickbutt hero that I just can't help but love.  The way he cares for Gwen is selfless and intense.

This story kicked things up another notch.  I love the "time running out" aspect to this particular installment.  The gang is having to race to obtain an antidote to a poison in hopes of saving the life of the person who was poisoned.  This lent an immediacy to the story that kept the pacing rolling and the pages turning.  The fight scenes were intense, and Gwen was amazing!  She's really coming into her own with her fighting.

The reader has an unexpected treat at the ending of this story that I know will please everyone as much as it did me.  This story was just amazing, exciting, fast-paced, and spectacularly woven.  I can't wait until the final installment of this series to see what happens.
