Real by Katy Evans
Release Date: April 8, 2013

A fallen boxer.  A woman with a broken dream.  A competition…  He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…  Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.  He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .  But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.  I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.  If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?  -

Omigosh!  So effing hot.  When I first started reading this story, my first thought that was that this was a total ripoff on Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.  But it didn't take long for me to see that this book was completely different, the struggles different, the emotional journeys different, and the people were different.  I absolutely loved everything about this story from the very first page until the very last.

The characters were amazing... and I'm not just talking about Remington and Brooke.  Even the secondary characters were amazing, so well developed, and so endearing.  I loved the entire cast, but I definitely had a soft spot for Remington.  A sexy, sexy, bad boy bf with some um, emotion problems, shall we say.  I don't want to say what it is because I don't want to ruin it for anyone.  But you just had to love him.  I think he's even better than Travis Maddox because he's more grown up, and so is the heroine.

Brooke was smart.  This is a girl who has overcome, knows what she wants and is going after it.  She's also brave and will sacrifice herself for people she cares about.  I loved the interactions between these two characters so much.  The romance was a slowly developing ride that was interesting and gratifying.

I am so happy to hear that there is a sequel to this story, because I dearly loved this one so much and am dying to read the second installment, although this one stood on its own.  I hadn't previously heard of this author, but I will definitely be looking out for additional books by her.  I loved this!  It was perfect!
