It's Feature and Follow Friday again!! It is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read.
Question of the Week: How did you come up with your blog title and address? Does it have a special meaning for you?
The Tale Temptress is actually not my blog's original name. When I first started I was named something else, and it was very boring and I wasn't excited about it. I took a near-year sabbatical from posting for personal reasons, and when I was ready to come back, I knew I wanted a fresh start with a new look and a new name. Something I could be excited about.
So I forced my husband to sit down with me and shoot some ideas around. I knew I wanted the name to make use of some alliteration...the same letter at the beginning of both words, so that it would be catchy. I knew this was my opportunity to come up with something unique. So I started thinking about the different words for "book," like fiction, novel, story, tale... Then I thought about what the next word would be. The moment we thought of Tale, I knew we had the right word... and from there, Temptress just followed immediately. Once I had the name down, I bought the domain, and the rest is history.
It doesn't have any special meaning other than my husband and I thought it was super cool. From there, I found a free stock photo that seemed to be the embodiment of a temptress and then I worked with Lori at Pure Imagination to design my new look. The whole process made me excited about my blog again, and it breathed new life into me as a blogger. So I think it was well worth the trouble.
