Review: A Perfect Ten by Linda Kage

A Perfect Ten by Linda Kage
Release Date: March 30, 2015
Publisher: Linda Kage
Genre: New Adult/College

I know I've closed myself off in a major way over the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up altogether. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.

Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye.

Wow, Linda Kage gets me every single time.  I just wish this Forbidden Men series would go on and on and on and on.  No end, please!  Can we make that happen?

Okay, enough fangirling.  Let's just say that I think this might be my favorite of the Forbidden Men series so far.  I love ALL of them, so don't get me wrong, but I think I have a special place in my heart for Ten.  This guy was just exactly what you want to read about.  He spoke his mind, even when others didn't want to hear it.  He was foul-mouthed, dirty (not in the I-need-soap way but in the panty-dropping way) and sexy.  Did I mention the caring, heart of gold side to him?

This is the fifth book, so obviously, I've been waiting five books to see this guy fall.  And fall he does... hard.  He's been carrying a torch for his best friend's sister, Caroline, for a few books now, and fighting it every step of the way.  That's all I can say on that without spoiling.

Now, let's talk about Caroline.  When I first met her a few books ago, I never would have anticipated that she would turn out with the kind of character she does.  I absolutely loved her!  She was a perfect match for Ten because she spoke her mind too, and she could give as good as she got.  This is a pretty fearless girl who will get what she wants, make no mistake.  And she has wanted Ten for a long time, no matter what her brother thinks.  Naturally, she knows he won't touch her due to bro-code, but what she's willing to do to get around that was pretty ballsy.  The whole thing was sexy as hell.

I loved the reformed bad boy…and man was he bad.  But Caroline knocked his socks off.  I loved the sexual tension between these two, and I have to say I loved the sex scenes too, as they were some of the hottest ones of any of Kage's books.

This book had some great drama!  I do believe it could have been condensed just a little bit, but you know what?  I'm not going to complain, because I was loving the story, the characters, and the conflict so much that I really didn't want it to end, and I was hanging on each and every word.

Linda Kage definitely knows what I like in a book, and she delivers it every time.  She can give you that sexual tension, some great conflict, wonderful, deep drama, and excellent writing all in one punch.  I can't wait for her next book!
